Auto insurance in Italy is twice as expensive in France ..

According to a report presented this week by the Italian Authority for Insurance Supervision, the average auto premiums paid by policyholders Italian would be two times higher than in France. Prices that would be due in part to high rates of loss observed in Italy.

Auto insurance: an average tariff Italian high compared to neighboring countries
According to a recent report published by Giancarlo Giannini, president of the ISVAP, the Italian control of the insurance sector, the average cost of car insurance in Italy will reach 407 euros. An amount approximately twice the average rate recorded by insurers in France. And Italy far exceeded the averages shown in neighboring countries. Thus, the average price of auto insurance in Spain is 229 euros, while France and Germany have even lower prices. Rates displayed in France produced an average of 172 euros 222 euros against the Germans.

Italian insurers widely criticized

The Isvap adds that in seven years, the amount of insurance premiums paid by the Italians to secure their car would have increased by 17.9% against 7.1% increase on a continental scale. Giancarlo Giannini said that some regions of Italy are experiencing very high premiums. Auto insurance rates yet paid by young drivers may exceed 7000 euros for a car of average power. Ultimately, the high cost of these tariffs may disadvantage the insurance sector in Italy, warns Isvap in its report. One criticism that is added to that of the Italian press has accused his own insurers to charge rates "ethnic" differences with 20% by nationality.

The association of insurers to defend Italy

The Ania, a group representing insurers in Italy, said in a statement, the reason for these premium cars very expensive. He said the loss ratio recorded in Italy are the highest in Europe, with a percentage of 8.6% for 2009. An actual rate twice that of France which has a ratio of loss of 4.4%. The Association points to the non-homogeneity of the Italian legislation regarding the criteria of damage, compared to that applied in all countries in the area. It also denounces the lack of Fraud in Italy for insurance claims.
